Search for missing man in Western Sydney floods

Police have released a photo of a man whose vehicle was discovered submerged in floodwaters in Western Sydney yesterday in the hope this will help find him.

The search for missing Beverly Hills man Xianbin Liu is underway in floodwaters in western Sydney.

NSW Police released an image on Wednesday afternoon of the 50-year-old man who has not been seen since midnight Tuesday when he left Greendale and did not arrive for his next scheduled job at 6am morning that day.

His delivery truck was found abandoned in floodwaters on Wolstenhome Ave at 9 p.m. Tuesday night – in the suburb where he made his last delivery.

Officers from Liverpool Regional Command were alerted to the location of the truck by the owner of the delivery company for which Mr Liu was employed.

Police entered the water and searched the submerged vehicle and its surroundings, but could not find it.

Mr. Liu, from Beverly Hills, is described as Asian in appearance, between 175 and 180cm tall, of slim build, with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a green pattern and navy blue pants.

Anyone who may have useful information is asked to contact Liverpool Police Station on (02) 9765 9499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
