Police carry out snap checks and search operations outside Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) – Latest News – The Nation

Rawalpindi-Police, on the orders of Municipal Police Officer Syed Shehzad Nadim Bukhari, carried out spot checks and search operations in various parts of the district to arrest anti-social elements, a police spokesperson said on Saturday . The snap check and search operation was carried out within the confines of Naseerabad, City, Ganjmandi, Waris Khan, Pirwadhai and New Town police stations under SSP Operations Command Wasim Riaz Khan, he said. The purpose of the search operation was to maintain law and order as well as flush out terrorists and other hard-line criminals in front of Chelum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). He said police teams overseen by senior police officers and police station officers grilled a total of 1,756 people in addition to checking 230 vehicles.
Police teams also checked hotels, motels, shops, plazas, homes and tenants during the search operation.
“As many as 2,539 people were questioned by the police officers in the hotels and 2,241 tenants were asked to show the rental agreement,” he said.
In a statement, CPO Syed Shehzad Nahim Bukhari said the purpose of the check and search operation was to ensure safety and protection of lives and property of citizens. He said that the police are fully ready to protect the participants of Chehlum from Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
