Owami Davies: Two men arrested as search continues for missing nursing student

Two men suspected of murder have been arrested by detectives searching for a student nurse who disappeared nearly a month ago.

Owami Davies, 24, left her family home in Grays, Essex, and was last seen just after midnight on Derby Road in West Croydon on July 7.

Miss Davies’ relatives have not heard from her and she did not attend the work, the Metropolitan Police said.

Detectives from the force’s Special Crime Command have taken over the case as they have the resources and expertise necessary for a complex investigation.

Officers stressed that it was still a missing person investigation.

Two men, aged 23 and 27, were detained in the Croydon area and are still being held at a south London police station.

Detective Constable Marie Spear said: ‘Owami was in a vulnerable condition when she was last seen and we need the public’s help to piece together her movements on the night she went missing.

“I urge anyone who has seen her or knows her whereabouts to contact the police immediately.

“I would also ask people in the West Croydon area to check their sheds and outbuildings and report anything suspicious or unusual.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101, quoting reference 22MIS025307, or the charity Missing People in confidence on 116000.
