The creep allegedly, at every opportunity, cycled up to the victims, who were jogging or walking, and grabbed their buttocks from behind or touched their genitals, before making inappropriate remarks to them. All the incidents took place in Hackney Marshes, east London.

Police have released an e-fit of the suspect, believed to be just 16.

Some 22 complaints of lewd behavior in Hackney Marshes were made by police between February and June this year, although officers believe more offenses could have been committed.

Metropolitan Police detectives are urging any women who may not have spoken to officers yet to get in touch with them, My London reports.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned, possibly mixed race, 16 or 17 year old male who typically wears a gray tracksuit.

Detective Constable Hannah Rodericks of the East Central Command Unit investigates.

She said: “I understand that this news may cause considerable concern within the community. We at the Central East Command Unit share this concern and are doing all we can to identify and bring to justice. the person responsible.

“It is imperative that he be identified, but we need the public’s help. Anyone with information that could help us is asked to get in touch immediately.”

Police have now urged anyone with information to come forward – and all other women to speak up if they have suffered similar abuse in the area.

In January, nearly 200 women shared their experiences through the Women’s Safety in public spaces in Hackney project, launched by Hackney Council on November 25, 2021.

Many comments have been left by women who feel unsafe walking around certain areas of the borough at night because they say it is “too dark” or “deserted”, or because there are regular “hanging gangs of men”.
